Chennai: In a spine-chilling incident, a class nine student stabbed his teacher to death in a private school in Chennai on Thursday. The student stabbed the teacher while she was taking lessons and she died while being taken to hospital, police said.

Confirming the unfortunate incident, school management said that the 39-year old teacher was stabbed several times by the school boy at 10.50 am.

Initial reports suggest that the teacher was trying to discipline him when the ill-fated incident took place.

Some reports also said that in the last few days, the teacher had complained of the boy’s misconduct in school to his parents and in a fit of anger, the juvenile stabbed his teacher.

The boy has been taken to custody. The motive of the murder was yet to be ascertained, police said.
