Beijing: a replacement Dolphin-assisted medical aid that helps treat kids with mental disabilities is gaining quality in China, in keeping with a media report.

The technique for youngsters with mental disabilities has already created a splash within the West, and China is currently riding the experimental tide.

Fifteen sessions with a try of bottle-nosed dolphins at Hangzhou Polar Ocean Park have helped a five-year-old unfit child become “aware” and “alert”.

Zheng Jun, father of the boy, believes the dolphin-assisted medical aid has been more practical than the other treatment.

“Now, you can`t tell he`s totally different from his classmates,” Zheng aforesaid.
Zheng became a believer of the technique once he visited associate degree Australian dolphin-swim programme few years agone. He says his son is elated once he splashes with the creatures within the park in Jiangsu, capital of east China`s Zhejiang province.
More than eighty oldsters of youngsters with severe mental disabilities have engaged all of next year`s spots within the program, the daily aforesaid.

Newcomers should currently wait till 2014, says Liu Quansheng, manager of the park`s owner, Zhejiang vivarium Investment cluster.

“People with mental disabilities usually have short attention spans. Swimming with dolphins helps them relax and focus,” Liu said.
