Right from their Uff moments at the recent IIFA Awards held in Singapore ( Read: Shahid, Priyanka’s Uff moment at IIFA Rocks), to playing ball in Melbourne ( Pics: Shahid and Priyanka play ball in Melbourne), to jumping on board a Mumbai local (Read: Shahid and Priyanka keep Teri Meri Kahaani on track ), former lovebirds Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra left no stone unturned to promote their movie, Teri Meri Kahaani which releases today.

Directed by Kunal Kohli, the movie is a love story that spans three eras – 1910, 1960 and 2012. Actors Shahid and Priyanka play three different characters in each era.

Shahid Kapoor has worked hard on his exercise regime and diet plan to adopt the different looks of his three characters in the movie. The actor reportedly sustained four injuries while training.

Priyanka Chopra is excited about her Punjabi village belle character, called Aradhana, and has added a personal touch to the role. “I wanted Aradhana to be very Punjabi-spoken, so I have used a very Punjabi accent, a few words in Punjabi where she speaks. I wanted her language to be influenced by Punjabi, so hopefully that’s come across,” said Priyanka, who is Punjabi herself, in an interview.

According to Shahid, the 1960s part of the film is inspired by the legendary actors of that era like Dev Anand, Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar and is a tribute to them. Also, lyricist Prasoon Joshi said that the song Uff is a tribute to late Bollywood legend Shammi Kapoor.

While Shahid said in a recent interview that earning Rs 100 crores at the box office is not a benchmark for a film to be declared a hit, we will wait and watch to see whether his Teri Meri Kahaani is able to keep cash registers ringing.
