Bedendra Shamsher Jung Bahadur Rana, widely known as B.S. Rana, was a legendary veteran actor in the Nepali film industry renowned for his commanding screen presence, distinct voice, and versatile acting style. Born into the prominent Rana family of Kathmandu, he received an elite education at St. Joseph's School in Darjeeling and later spent nearly thirty years in the United Kingdom, where he immersed himself in English literature and performed in Shakespearean theater.
