Marian Constance Blackton
Biography:
Marian Constance Blackton (January 18, 1901 – December 12, 1993) was an American screenwriter and actress known for her work in silent film.
The daughter of Vitagraph Studios founder J. Stuart Blackton, Marian began work as a script supervisor before writing scripts full time for the studio, including The Gilded Highway (1926), Becky (1927) and Buttons (1927). After the Stock Market Crash of 1929 caused the financial devastation of the Blackton family, Marian briefly took up work as an actress in low budget films such as Maniac (1934) and Marihuana (1936) before retiring from the film industry completely.
