Kim Whalen is an actress born in Dallas, Texas. She's best known for her work with the American musical theatre company Team StarKid, playing Wellsie in the series The Black Dagger Brotherhood (2025) and Ava Winthrop in the series Being Mary Jane (2013). She is a classically trained singer and starred as Luisa in the 50th Anniversary of The Fantasticks at The Theatre Center in NYC. Kim's acting career began on stage, doing theatre in her hometown of Dallas, and her interest in film came after being cast in the movie, The Tree of Life (2011), which takes place in a small Texas town.
