Biography:
Salomon (Monne) Rodrigues de Miranda (Amsterdam, March 21, 1875 – Leusden (Camp Amersfoort), November 3, 1942) was a Dutch alderman for the SDAP in Amsterdam.[1] Rodrigues De Miranda – simply called De Miranda – was a diamond worker from an early age and was an active member of the Algemeene Nederlandsche Diamantbewerkersbond (ANDB). In 1916, he became a board member of this union. During the interwar period, together with Floor Wibaut, he was the most prominent alderman in Amsterdam. During the Second World War, he was arrested by the German occupiers of the Netherlands. He died as a result of severe mistreatment in Camp Amersfoort.
