Jasleen Matharu was born on 4 April 1990 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India in a Sikh family to Kesar Matharu and Jaspreet Matharu. Her father is a director. She has one brother Kamaljeet Singh Matharu . In 2018, she entered the Bigg Boss 12 house with her boyfriend, Anup Jalota. She met Anup through her father as she used to learn music from him.
Jasleen Matharu started learning music at a small age. She received training in classical and western music.
