Biography: Herbert Hisel (June 22, 1927 – September 21, 1982) was a German comedian and humorist, best known as the most popular Franconian comic performer of the 1960s and 1970s. Performing in the Nuremberg dialect, he became famous for his storytelling monologues and his trademark phrase “Jou wergli” (“Yes, really”), which earned him widespread recognition and multiple Gold Records.
